In a rapidly changing world, where urbanization, climate change, and population growth pose significant challenges, the question of new living forms is more present than ever before. This project explores the core principles and benefits of collective living and its vast potential in a post pandemic society. By reimagining the legacy of the traditional Row House program, catered to the nuclear family, this project seeks to revolutionize living spaces through the strategic integration of shared communal areas. This innovative approach not only fosters a sense of community but also promotes sustainability and resource efficiency. Housing for flexible people challenges traditional housing typologies and questions how we might build on the sharing of space to encourage positive interactions and collaboration among residents. With this in mind, private versus public spaces are defined and placed strategically to facilities to foster a sense of community and optimize a shared lifestyle. Throughout the complex, a number of communities are created based on their levels of sharing. The most notable shared community is the shared kitchen community, where every two units are connected through a shared kitchen area. Such design reduces construction and operating costs ultimately resulting in a more affordable living model.
